Had anyone ever encountered this message on the rev counter. I started the engines and all my gauges would not work and this message came up on both rev counters IMG_5218.JPG

Yep, I had the same issues last year. Turned out that lightning had hit nearby and fried my gauges. Cost about 2 boat bucks to diagnose & replace.

I've lost communications about twice in last 10 years. Each time only off for 30 seconds, then restores itself, thank god.

I think the QSB is pretty picky about the order in which you power up. Switch, Key, Start. I've left the key on and switched off. No problem until I came back. Key was already on, switch on, no go. The fail/safe switching from the upper helm to the lower helm underway is pretty picky, too. Mess that up and you are going to have to start over, which can be a panic if you are in the middle of a channel trying to land.

Hi all, thanks for all information "lost engine Com" is now fixed thanks to my Electrician and Engineer It was a loose connector on one of the wires in the wiring harness on the starboard engine in the engine room. An easy fix but very hard to find thanks Graeme & Robert,

Thanks for posting the follow up and the "rest of the story". That really helps folks searching through the threads looking for similar problems and their solution.

Speaking of wiring harness, on my 411 in the engine room, strapped to the stringers of each engine, there are fuses in those harnesses. Hard to find if you are not even aware they are there.
