Home Port: Clinton CT. IP Logged | Hi guys:
Two (hopefully) quick questions:
1. On the 341, are the poles for the bridge bimini 7/8ths or 1 inch?
2. What is the procedure to replace the little cockpit courtest lights- how do the covers come off?
Thanks! |

The covers do not come off. You have to replace the whole light. You need to get behind the light to unscrew the nut from the back and then replace the whole unit. You can do this from the bilge. If you can't get behind them, you can drill them out from the front. There are several posts on this. I replaces the white oval ones with the newer blue LED's with the chrome cover because the white ones kept going out. If you need the white ones, let me know. I bought extras and I don't need them anymore. |

I'd recommend that you move to the LED courtesy lights mentioned by Michael. They are available in several colors are built to last. The OEM's are just going to need continous replacement. You will likely need Taylor to go in the bilge to unscrew the plastic nut in the back. I had Michael do mine. Child labor is best for this task.
Here is a link to the lights I changed over to.

Happy to help install if you need it. |

Brian- the blue LEDs must look great- we'll walk down and take a look one evening. |

But I personally liked the white light as they matched the LED bulb changeover's I did or the cockpit ceiling/radar arch lights. Just my opinion.

As far as the overhead courtesy lights in the arch and the outside ceiling, these also pry off with a knife. They are held in place with plastic "teeth. I am replacing my bulbs with colored LED festoon lights. About 10 bucks each. |

I am talking about the little courtesy lights near the transom and going up the stairs to the bridge.
Your post is encouraging, but I'm a little nervous given the consensus of the other posters that the covers don't come off.
What model and year is your boat?
Thanks! |

The lights on the cockpit ceiling, like the ones in the head, can gently be twisted and the cover comes off for bulb replacement. |
