Yup. That's it. On the remote in the Salon, that hole is covered by a switch plate. It should be accessible at the helm though.

Thank you both! You may not believe this but even though we all have the same model year boats (and have remotes that look identical) my remotes do not have the hole with the reset button! Uggghhhhhh! I have an email into JBL Marine support to see if there is a sequence of buttons I can push to reset the remotes in the absence of a hole with a button!

My boat was built in January 2006. Do you guys happen to have later build dates and thereby possibly updated remotes?

Mine was built in late 2005. I know I had the remote on the bridge replaced under warranty because the "Mode" button stopped working. I think that was in 2007. I'll have to look at the new one to see if it has the hole. I think it does and I'm pretty sure the original one did as well.

Ray,
Maybe my remotes were changed when they replaced the gateways under warranty (2008 I think). If so, I can't be 100% sure that the originals had the reset hole. Good luck with JBL.

UPDATE: all support for JBL Marine products is provided by their authorized U.S. distributor Prospec Electronics. I sent an email over the weekend and received a reply first thing Monday advising me to disconnect the REW-W (assume that is the gateway - it is an adapter that allows the use of multiple remotes) and plug the remotes one at a time directly into the head unit. If the display/remotes work then the REW-W is bad and needs to be replaced.

I wonder if disconnecting everything and reconnecting would be enough to reset everything, especially if you have a loose connection somewhere.
