Yesterday was a comfortable 84 degrees with low humidity. It was just me and the wife and our Afghan hound. We decided to untie and go for a cruise. 'The cummins diesels fired instantly, the Onan genset was purring like a kitten. Chartplotter, and all electronics were alive and doing their job The lake was smooth and the winds were light. Perfect breeze through the flybridge at a relaxing 1000 rpm hull speed cruise. Even the dog was smiling and for awhile, everything in the world was right. We returned and tied up, that was uneventful thanks to the bow and stern thrusters which have worked flawlessly since we bought the boat. We went down into the salon and the master bath shower sump was running. Then Sue pointed out a salon light was out. LOL, I guess there's no such thing as "perfect" .. The light just needed a tap and the float switch in the sump needed cleaned. No biggie.. Having a boat can be a lot of work at times, not to mention the expense but days like yesterday make it all worth while, at least for us. Being up on the flybridge and gracefully carving through the water, enjoying a cold beverage, happy wife, happy dog and a Meridian flybridge boat that I'm very proud of made yesterday one of those days you just can't describe to non-boaters.

Sometimes we don't take the time to appreciate the "perfect day". Glad you found that peace and harmony we all strive to obtain. There is nothing like being on a boat!!

The previous week was just the opposite.. Inlaws, EIGHT of them on the boat for the day.. I wished I'd been called out for a work trip, only good thing was that nothing got broken, even the toilet useage was done correctly. What do you do when your inlaws want to go tubing behind your 25,000lb. boat?.. You gladly oblige!..

You say sure, if you pay the fuel bill.

That's our kind of boating - relaxed, refreshing and very pleasant. We tend to leave speeding and noise to cigar boats.
